Leedo Cabinetry -- Vice President of Manufacturing

Leedo Cabinetry is a $43 million dollar kitchen cabinet company with a twelve-year history of 18% annual compound sales growth. We expect to grow 35% next year, and we believe that under current market conditions, we can grow as fast as we are able to reliably increase our manufacturing capacity. Leedo employs 310 people at our factory and central office in East Bernard, Texas, 45 minutes west of downtown Houston.
We currently have capacity to build 2,200 cabinets per day in any of 80 combinations of door styles and colors and more than 3000 variations of cabinet size and configuration. We also fabricate post-formed countertops. We manufacture with a one week lead time. All cabinets have a traditional face-frame construction. Most of our cabinets and tops are installed in apartment complexes nationwide.
We currently have an opening for a shirt-sleeve executive who will report to Leedo’s President and be a key member of Leedo’s senior management team. He or she will be expected to provide vision and input for other facets of our business.
The positions responsibilities include:

1. Supervising all manufacturing personnel including the engineering manager, purchasing manager, production scheduler, and delivery.
2. Continually improving quality, safety, housekeeping, labor efficiency, materials management, and materials costs and yields.
3. Adoption of new technologies and new equipment purchases.

The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

1. 15 or more years manufacturing management experience at the level of plant manager or higher.
2. Woodworking machinery knowledge, including rough mill.
3. Plant design and layout experience.
4. Experience with multi-shift operations.
5. MBA or equivalent breadth of business management experience.
6. Speaking Spanish a plus, but not a prerequisite.
7. Ability to integrate new products with our existing capacities and markets.
8. Planning expertise to creatively increase production to meet our growing sales needs.
